Trump eyes massive escalation in economic war with China - 60% tariffs

I asked friend who is a citrus and almond grower about this scenario, he called it a patriotic price increase as long as it did not affect him.

a very very very large citrus land south of orlando was auction off in oct 2022, my partnership bought a relatively small parcel near the county road, hope to get the zoning change to build a strip mall and some mobile/condo/home lots. other bidders have much much bigger development plans.

no more 99 cents lays potato chips on the supermarket shell, i think you would agree on that. now it is at least $2 if not more.

domestic producers, take us postal for example, money order fee, increase 55 cents from $1.45 in 2021 to $2 in 2023. you’d think printing few number on a piece of paper got nothing to inflation.

Chips are massively expensive. I'm seeing wise potato chips the 7.5 OZ bags going for nearly $4.50!!!!!!!
For 7.5 OZ. It's not even a quality chip!

The guy who bought up the avocados and citrus near me is a Middle Eastern billionaire. Recently he’s put up several hundred million for sale. I know Florida was getting hammered by Huanglongbing, I wonder if the grower tired of the hassle or the kids don’t want to farm?
