Yep, this protest is quickly crumbling as the sjw's find - once again - they are on the wrong side of the argument.
The only people in favor of these idiotic protests are sports writers. These days, sports writers tend to be wimpy leftists who never played the sports they are covering and are far more interested in virtue signaling and trashing Trump. They've been indoctrinated since kindergarten to always defer to minorities and to treat any mention of racism as obviously accurate and a serious issue. They are so isolated in their bubble of adoration of rich black thug athletes that they cannot even comprehend the anger of fans.

I have to correct this. Apparently the Packer players engaged in more of the moronic arm linking prior to the Anthem. Since they were so desperate to show how united they are, we can safely assume they all support BLM, killing cops and hate our president.
Meanwhile, the stuffed suit commissioner is suspending players for toking up to "protect the shield", ie the league's pristine image.

You are right about sports writers today. In the old days sports writers were individuals who are very interested in the sports they covered, played sports while in school, and viewed sports journalism as a lifetime career.
Today most news networks / papers are focused on cutting costs. The sports writer positions are filled with entry level journalism majors who are usually contractors. Most have no interest in sports and are simply hoping to use the role as a stepping stone into another non-sports media position with higher pay as a full-time employee. In local media most sports-writers / journalists are also the people who work the media tents at local fairs giving away promotional items for the media station (or trying to sign-up people to buy the paper). Very different environment than earlier days -- and I am not going to blame the young "sport-writers" for it. The blame rests squarely on the media companies... and yes most of these young journalism majors lean left in their beliefs.
I will mention that most military members find kneeling for the national anthem to be disrespectful. They don't seem to find the arm-linking to be disrespectful (according to local media interviews).
