Oh bullshit. Trump did this because he thought it would appeal to his pussy, alt right, low information base. "..Prohibits efficient functioning of our armed forces". Have you lost your fucking mind? Since when have the armed forces been "efficient'? The U.S. armed forces are the embodiment of inefficiency. They give socialism a black eye! A few, ~15K, cross-dressers can't possibly have any effect one way or the other.Let's be fair here. Trumps comments in that posted video seemed to be entirely about the rights of LGBT folks to happiness. He stated that they should be allowed to love who they choose, and should not be subject to persecution.
However, the decision to not allow them to serve doesn't necessarily mean he suddenly changed this view point. There are logistical, defensive and financial reasons why having trans gendered individuals serving in active duty prohibits the efficient functioning of our armed forces. I know everyone wants to immediately assume Trump made this decision because he hates transgender individuals - it's much easier to say that and it fits the current narrative.
I'm all for jumping on him for not keeping his promises on a number of topics. But I want to do so fairly.

Someone is willing to risk their life for this country and the country says no thanks.
Doesn't this feel unamerican? Someone is willing to risk their life for this country and the country says no thanks.
Trumps order doesn't kick out any currently enlisted transgendered so the military is screwed anyway if there is a war.
The military spends 5x more on viagra than on transgendered services.
It feels like this is a move to appease the religious right in his base. Or more nefariously to change the conversation from something more embarrassing for him.
This is decidedly untrue and I challenge you to find a single post of mine where I did that.** I have suggested that Trump is mentally deranged. I have said he has a serious personality/mental disorder. And I have said he is mentally unfit to serve as our President. I have also suggested that his real problem, from a legal standpoint, is likely to be associated with his companies financial transactions, especially those involving Russian Oligarch Money. I have suggested that he has very likely under- , mis- , or fruadulently reported profits from helping Russian Oligarchs to launder ill gotten gains. He has refused to release his tax returns for a reason, and this is why Mr. Mueller is naturally interested in them. These things I mention are only the tip of the iceberg. Donald Trump is a gangster who has been sued over 4000 times and is now skating on extremely thin ice. You've expressed your view that Trump is the anti-christ about a zillion times over.
Hard to say what the reasons are unless you've discussed it with the top brass. I know I haven't. I suspect you haven't either.
If someone born blind and deaf wants to serve their country, it isn't unamerican to say "thank you, but we don't have a spot for you."
The comment on viagra is fascinating, but irrelevant. And you can "feel like" the move is to appease someone, just as I can "feel like" it is probably more of a logistical decision, just like the whole discussion on gays in the military was a logistics issue. The difference between you and I is that I'm willing to consider that the decision might be based on a reason other than hate, whereas you assume right away that it's all about hate.
Aren't you in the UK anyway?
