By that standard, Obama deserves to be drawn and quartered!
All that happened was he repeated a largely non-issue with conviction until it became important to you. He lied about stats, took outliers as core proof and just repeated and repeated. The same damned technique with Benghazi. Repeat, repeat and you mind changes until you are convinced a cat is a dog because it has four legs and a tail, all the other inconsistencies in the comparison melt away because you KNOW what is true.
What happened was Trump was the only Presidential Candidate that addressed the problems of illegal immigration.
The presence of troops does not ipso facto equate to martial law. Martial law relates more to the suspension of civil law and replacing it with military law. Trump is required under the constitution to protect the country against invaders and there is no problem using federal troops to supplement a federal responsibility. If, however, he decided to try to process detainees through a military tribunal rather than through the civilian courts, then that would be trying to impose martial law and raise all the issues that go with it. But troops are being proposed to enforce civilian law duly enacted by congress.
Obama was called "the deporter in chief".
If you look at the actual stats, not the imaginary ones you have been programmed with he did a huge amount.

I'm not an Obama fan, I am pissed at many things however half the stuff the right spouts about immigrants comes from the Benghazi gang and the people who brought you Sandyhook never happened and much more.
Trump made the Mexicans his Jews, a somehat problem but not threatening. A common enemy for his supporters to rally behind him against. If not them it may have been people with freckles.

Interesting question. I am not an expert on Posse Comitatus, but I fail to see how it would apply to using troops to secure the border. Border security is a core military function.
I think we would have true constitutional crisis, instead of the fake ones the media is always creating, if in fact a court presumed to overrule the president's decision to station troops on the border. This is a clearcut Executive Branch responsibility. Courts have no jurisdiction and any president would be justified, indeed he would be compelled, to ignore such a ruling.
