If Kamala rips Pence, Trump is done and she could. But Pence is skilled debating so for me, this is the decider as she needs to not repeat any mistakes of Hillary letting bullshit stick to her. I already knew Biden was not great but not senile and would hold up.
She needs to keep Pence tied to Trump's chaos, not create his own everything lovely in Pence world bubble.
I see Trump as the gatekeeper of our system that rewards work and innovation. I see Biden as representing a grab for power that rewards political loyalty above all else.
Trump and Biden are national embarrassments, even though they successfully navigated their primaries against a crowded field. I’m talking about the 2016 Republican primaries for Trump, of course.
Our political process is severly dysfunctional for not attracting better qualified, no, minimally qualified Presidential candidates.
I can understand the appeal for Trump in 2016 with his name calling, etc., because it was a “Fook you” to the establishment that a large number of voters felt disenfranchised with.
The problem for Trump now is we are almost four years into his leadership and he has, by extension, become part of the establishment. There are multiple national crises going on now and voters want a reasoned and problem solving approach rather than an obsolete campaign technique.
While Trump certainly has skills, he was never mistaken for a genius, to put it mildly, as he does not seem able to read the writing on the wall directly front of him.
Both parties have been grossly insubordinate to the American voter. Mitch’s lie on Supreme Court Justice nominations close to an election and Democrat Supreme Court stacking and fillibuster threats, among many other things. We need a purge, but the politicians are not going to do it by themselves. It will take the people working together to do that. Perhaps this is the reason politicians and the media are constantly fostering discontent. “Let’s keep them at each other’s throats so they leave us alone”. The answer is we the people must force change ourselves. Perhaps the leadership of radical right wing groups could meet with radical left wing groups and they could forge a new government. Pie in the sky? Probably, but it would be nice to turn the tables on the establishment that has been pitting us against each other for so long.
Hopefully heir apparent, Kamala Harris, will have the balls to go beyond party lines and address the fundamental needs of our system: A representative form of Government that is responsive to the needs of the people, which includes most of us feeling we are part of the same team. Sure, both sides are not going to see eye to eye on many issues. But so what? As long we recognize each other as thinking, feeling people who want the best for our communities, progress will be made.
Kamala seems the smartest of the four, but she may be missing practical knowledge on critical subjects. I am rooting for her to show up the three old men in the debates who continue to try working well past their expiration date. Excuse me, retirement age.
Lights, Kamala, action!
