Trump Celebrates Virginia Primary Win By Corey Stewart Whose Personal Hero is a Racist

Mediaite reported earlier this month that Stewart called white nationalist Paul Nehlen “one of my personal heroes” in a video that’s still up on YouTube.

Nehlen, a “pro-White” candidate who keeps challenging Paul Ryan in the Wisconsin House primaries and losing, was recently banned from Twitter for racism. His anti-Semitism is also a thing.

Stewart himself also spoke at a right-wing rally in Charlottesville, North Carolina (before the infamous alt-right one that ended in a murder) alongside white supremacist Jason Kessler (who went on to organize the subsequent deadly rally).

The Virginia GOP Senate primary winner’s campaign itself is also troubling. It named a campaign staffer who self-identified as a neo-Nazi on Facebook as its “Volunteer of the Week.”

Sen. Corey Gardner (R-CO), the head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, told CNN the group has no plans to endorse Corey Stewart (R), the party’s U.S. Senate nominee in Virginia.

Said Gardner: “We have a big map, right now we are focused on Florida, North Dakota, Missouri, Indiana. I don’t see Virginia in it.”
