Trump Begged Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones to Have Team Stand for Anthem

According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the matter was so vital to Trump that he called Cowboys owner Jerry Jones four times prior to last week’s game and, in Rapoport’s words, “implored” Jones to have the team stand for the Anthem.

The Cowboys — including Jones himself — ended up taking a knee prior to the Anthem, then standing up for the song.

Trump weighed in via his Twitter feed following the Cowboys’ gesture.
