I think "socialist" is the new N word. Policy-wise, I don't think I've agreed with anyone more even to the point where he wants someone to stand in for him at events so he can focus on presidenting. There is a reckoning coming in the homeland, he's the only one who has a plan that isn't dead on arrival. Trump tried, but his approach is not very forward looking. Yang is trying to solve the same problems, but in a different way.

Listening to Bernie is like nails on a chalkboard. I have no idea how he has a single supporter. Free this, free that. Yang's main thing is the monthly payment. I get that's a bit socialist, but to be honest, it's necessary to avoid the reckoning. And he makes a good point with that payment as well: if you've got 3-4 18 year olds, that's $4K coming in on top of any jobs you may have. That gives you the ability to start a business, go to school, or whatever.

And eventually, this is my favourite part as a government hater, it defunds the welfare state.

We had this discussion many times, you don't get it ? At first it's cool the free extra money, within few years it turns into budget money cause everything went up like crazy, and back at square one... Except now you are stuck sucking on the government's tits or you starve, government dependency leads to a can of ugly things, especially in the Authoritarian AI looms over your shoulder future

Socialism has been tried many times throughout world history, it fails, especially when one's government fails as well. Raise Interest Rates in 2021, and bring back reality, what was wrong with the 4-5 % interest rates days ? Do not let short term thinking over ride long term planning, ever... Free money is short term, long term is slavery to the system

You will never escape being a slave. I think the main question is whether it will cause inflation or not. I thought we agreed due to the Alaska/Yukon comparison that it wasn't necessarily going to be true.
