Very true. An onslaught of “free speech” mis/disinformation is the vulnerability of an uneducated democratic electorate.

Putin and the KGB are masters of this art.

The "microblog" is the basis. It comes in the form of a phone picture of what looks like published material - generally as a cropped view of a print publication - the page of a book or the snippet of a magazine article.

This gets posted on a lower-tier clickbait website until a higher tier media channel picks it up. Memes are created. Then this initial post is deleted.

When fact-checking and tracing these viral memetic posts, the trail stops at this tier. The original post can never be traced to source material.
