Trump Announces 10% Tariffs on 300 Billion!

And yet on Wednesday night all the “Woke” Democratic candidates tore President Obama down.

Democrats are TERRIBLE at politics, and get outmaneuvered at ever turn by the Republicans; from losing a Supreme court seat, to failing to properly market Obamacare (everyone hated it for years until the Republicans tried to eliminate it without having a better solution).

Well, if Warren or Sanders wins in 2020 that would be a Socialist Administration. Their policies certainly wouldn’t look like any previous Democratic President in history. Even President Obama admitted that he would a “Republican” comparatively speaking.

I wouldn't worry about that. Even if Warren or Sanders wins, they won't have the votes in the Senate, and you will pretty much have what you have today -- a stalemate where not much gets accomplished.

Looks like I'm going to need some of that luck! The move in bonds has some follow-through. Still haven't touched the the strike yet. I feel confident enough to add to the position if it goes further in this direction though.

Not sure why you would place that bet - the US Fed has just started with their easing cycle and Draghi and the ECB have told the European Banks to expect even more pronounced negative rates (the ECB is devaluing the Euro against the Dollar).

But I wish you good fortune.

it's never guaranteed... if there is social unrest anything can happen...
Almost guaranteed. 1989, Tiananmen Square social unrest, simply crashed it, nothing happened.

I personally think China will blink and should blink since it is in their best interest. Those agreements are reasonable and not that different from any bilateral trade deals the US has with Canada, EU, Japan... It is actually difficult to enforce even if they agree to it.

However, any single party political system cannot and will not allow anyone, especially outside forces to challenge their manhood, losing face, perceive being weak.

Civil Servants are rebelling vs HK government... The Banking and Business Association next week protesting against HK Government too, everyone is against Carrie Lam and the communists... Political Crisis meets a Economic Crisis in HK right now, if china comes in gun blazing it's over for that city, massive exodus of money. Either Carrie resigns and they elect a Democratic party, which communist china will never allow, or the city crumbles.

Hong Kong civil servants joined in anti-government street protests Friday as China's top diplomat accused the U.S. and other Western nations of "fanning the flames" of the demonstrations he said aim to undermine the semi-autonomous region's prosperity, stability and security.

Several thousand serving and retired members of the city's civil service joined the event Friday evening, which was notable for the lack of police-protester clashes that have overshadowed protest actions over recent days.

"Right now the Hong Kong government is blindly leading the people. They disregard the needs of the population," said K.H. Wu, who worked for the government for 40 years.

"As civil servants, if we don't stand up, that means we are disloyal. Our loyalties are not to a particular government, but to the people," Wu said.

Participation in the rally did not come without risk, with officials warning civil servants they could be disciplined if they showed partiality or criticized specific officials and policies.

Trump: China wants to delay trade talks past 2020 election

Moments after suggesting that Beijing wanted to wait him out, Trump seemed to contradict himself by contending that “China is dying to make deal with me,” before adding, “but whether or not I’ll do it, it’s up to me. It’s not up to them. ”

That's been the entire plan,
Remember Mr T is a winner..over and over again. Mr Xi will lose.

Will revisit this in due time!!

Of course, he could die tomorrow from illness. However, history gives him greater odds of staying in power longer than Trump. Even in Africa, you don't topple a dictator every day.

true... although for this trade thing I don't see it dragged long after 2020... they gonna wait for 2024 lol.... by then all the companies can leave will have left.

Except I didn't see his winning form when he met Putin?

what.. on this one you are way behind... we are already in the 'investigating the investigator' phase...

notice even the Dem debaters didn't mention Russia anymore... it's a nothing burger... actually worse than a nothing burger because the Barr investigation will eventually prove this was an illegal attempt to over throw a legit prez... so it will be poisonous for the candidates to associate themselves with the Russia thing any longer.
