The establishment fostered the war in Iraq based on the lie that Saddam Hussein had WMDs and the only way to neutralize the threat. The came up with all kinds of bizarre fantasies about WMDs and mobile biological weapons labs. They cynically rode the post 9/11 wave and claimed that the war in Iraq was essential to protect the homeland.
Establishment politicians, the intelligence community, and the military industrial complex all worked together to whip of a frenzy to march to a drumbeat of war.

For US deaths it was 4,492.
Who was the establish? It turns out the establishment hasnt changed much over the years.
Not a single one of these people was charged or were there threats of charges after they killed potentially up to a million people for a lie.
Of course the defense contractors ate the whole thing up and they lined the pockets of any politician who was willing to go along.

Trump had a legally binding Non Disclosure Agreement and the establishment is up in arms.
