Trump Adopts AAA Immigration Policy: No More Muslims

"One" of them already did win and we have suffered for seven years because of it. The republicans' failure to fight back produced a voter base receptive to Trump.

Say what you want about Trump but you know where he stands, no one owns him and he is not cowed by anything or anybody.

Lots of folks around the country are unraveling - either from the polarized political climate or too much change being forced too quickly - so it's not surprising that there's a populist candidate channeling those feelings and discontent.

Either moderation and dialogue begins to return or we're going to see more radical folks trying to grab power (on both sides) which doesn't have a good end for the country. Because eventually one of them is going to win.
I agree. Fortunately, Clinton is not on the extreme and is far closer to the center than her Republican counterparts.

However, I continue to wonder what effect this "project" will have on Trump's businesses. I think he may be seriously alienating the people he does business with for the political support of people who are nowhere near his targeted market for his various business interests. It will be fascinating to see how it all plays out.

So in the reality where Trump wins, things swing to the extreme back to the right. Everyone on the right is happy, the left goes into total revolt (like the right is now) and they come up with an even more crazy candidate than Obama and the cycle continues. Eventually, something breaks - permanently.

If only your opinion of that situation was shared by the rest of us, there might be something. Unfortunately, "right" of you is still very much left of center for us. Add to that the corruption and lies, and Clinton isn't anymore acceptable than Trump.

Only as it relates to ET's P&R and other fringe groups. But rather than argue the point, it is probably best to see who wins and by how much to determine relative group size.

This is something that the left tells itself to sleep better at night. "Ah, it's just fringe elements." The problem is the fringe has gotten beyond that already, and - as stated in my original point - dismissing the issues rather than trying to work dialogue will only get "fringe" factions on both sides of the aisle to grow. And we'll eventually get another "fringe" candidate as President.

You have to ask yourself how you would feel if Trump were President. Because that's how lots of folks feel with Obama as President. Sure, they're crazy and you're right (according to you) but from their standpoint you're the loon. If you're not willing to change that or consider that others have a valid gripe - or at least feel as though they do, then expect extremes on both sides forthcoming.

Comparing Trump to Obama is a non-starter.

Was Bill Clinton a fringe guy? Is Obama left of Clinton? If so, how?

Ditto.

Recent poll shows 50% of voters would be "embarrassed to have Trump as president".

Yet 50% or more of voters HATE OBAMA! And for good reason. Trump, he's a loud mouth and not polished in "politician speak". For those of us who endorse him and the "last ditch hope for the survival of America" he seems to offer, that's a good thing.
