United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley's abrupt resignation on Tuesday came one day after an ethics group requested the State Department's inspector general investigate her acceptance of seven free flights aboard private jets.
- Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, listed the flights on her 2017 financial disclosure and asserted that each qualified for an exception based on her relationships with the trio of businessmen who provided them.
- But the group suggested that Haley did not provide enough information to assert that exception.
These jet flights are a minor issue that was actually known and bantered about for months after it was disclosed on her 2017 financial disclosure form. The actual issue is the value of the flights and amount of money that Haley should pay for them. This can easily be resolved by her paying additional money for the flights if the government demands it. This is not a big issue; nor is it anything that would cause her to resign.
The complaint from a left wing "ethics" group which only complains about right wing politicians is mere grand standing from the organization.

It also accuses the head of the government’s procurement and real estate division of providing misleading and incomplete testimony about Trump’s actions, citing emails and providing extracts of those messages.
For years, the FBI had a long-term plan to build a new headquarters in a suburban location, and to sell its current complex—which is located on Pennsylvania Avenue across from the Trump International Hotel—for demolition and commercial development that likely would have included a hotel and conference facilities.
The Trump hotel opened in September 2016, and prior to becoming president, Trump wanted to acquire the property. However, after he was elected, Trump opposed the relocation, reportedly because of the concern that a hotel built on the property could take business from his. Trump turned over day-to-day management of the Trump Organization to his older sons, but maintains a direct financial interest and benefit from the operations.
