Trump Abandons his Own Tax Plan

Yeah, he is already bailing on his own tax plan. He claims that some of the portions were just there for negotiation purposes. Well why has he dumped these parts and who is he negotiating with right now? Maybe Trump covered it in the 'Art of Deal' but when do you broadcast that your position is strictly for negotiation purposes, and then give up on the position before the negotiation begins.

Maybe next time I play poker and I can bluff then show my cards so my opponent knows I am bluffing. That seems to be Trump's strategy. I suppose when you pocket the winnings of your good deals, then default and don't pay for the losses on your bad deals, it can be quite lucrative.

because he knows the numbers don't add up so he will need to go a little higher, thereby attracting every pig to the bargaining trough.

Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump on Sunday appeared to nudge his fiscal policies -- including those on taxes and the minimum wage -- closer to the center ahead of the general election, while downplaying a lack of party support for his candidacy.

Trump suggested on ABC’s “This Week” that his tax plan, which now includes a tax break for the country’s top wage-earners, would likely be different if he becomes president, considering it would likely need support from Democrats as well as Republicans on Capitol Hill.

"By the time it gets negotiated, it's going to be a different plan," the billionaire businessman said in a pre-taped interview that aired Sunday. "On my plan, (tax rates) are going down. But by the time it's negotiated, they'll go up."

It's not really a huge deal. His core policies on trade and immigration are unchanged. His tax plan for the lower and middle class remains unchanged.

Trump is a results-oriented guy. He wants to get things done. Not sit in gridlock.

Easing up on the minimum wage and higher taxes on the 1% gets him Bernie votes, perhaps the White House. And in the end, it passes his tax plan.

Trump supporters will be okay with that 'flip flop'. I want to see the border closed, illegals deported, and tariffs against Chindia. So long as that's accomplished, he can play with a few basis points here or there. Pittance.

Well thats fine and you have every right to not be bothered, but this guy is saying he a master negotiator, who exactly was he negotiating with?

BTW, Mexico ain't paying for a wall, and you will love tariffs against China until your $400 tv costs $700. Trump seems to have left that aspect of the tariff out, didn't he. Do you know who pays the tariff? China doesn't. Trump doesn't. The manufacturer doesn't. YOU DO. Yeah, thats great policy.

He's not negotiating. He's just pivoting from the primaries to the general and trying to lure in some of those dumb f bernie supporters. He can't win without them.

He could play Mexico against China for some of those manufacturing jobs...build the wall, Mexico and we'll help you build your economy behind it......forgive some debt, China or the jobs are coming back across the Pacific.

It's a great policy that every emerging mercantile and export giant has used, with much success. China, Japan, Pre-industrial America, the UK etc.

The point is tariffs make imports cost prohibitive. So nobody buys imports. Just domestic models. Factories come back, invest in robotics, and sell cheaper (albeit somewhat more expensive then Walmart prices) then overseas competitors. We win.

That's EXACTLY what China and Japan are doing right now. That's exactly how they built their empires + currency debasement
