Once again, the reasons you are blocked have failed to penetrate your thick head.
Let’s state it again. Stop responding to me constantly. Stop abusing me in your posts. Stop doxing me. Leave me the F alone and I will leave you alone. These are the expectations. I will respond to others on whatever thread I please — you don’t “own” a thread.
However if you continue to regularly hurl abuse I will respond — quite rightfully.
But getting back to the block feature for a minute, the core problem is not giving someone the block feature. The core problem is allowing the user to temporarily "unblock" someone that was previously blocked . That's really the problem and why the system is getting abused.
So what myself and some other members were talking about last night in a private thread is revoking the ability to unblock someone. That way, if you try to block someone, a pop-up will say something to the effect of "Blocking a user is permanent. Do you want to proceed?" And if you click yes, there's no way to undo it. That way, this bullshit of unblocking someone so you can sneak over to his thread and post a shit-talking reply, and then put him back on your block list so he can't see it and respond to it, will be eliminated.
He puts an annoying user on his block list so that person can't see his posts and he can't see theirs. Ok, fine no problem.
But then whenever destriero wants to talk shit about that user, what he does is take that user off his block list for a few seconds so he can submit an insulting reply. As soon as he submits the post, he puts the user right back on his block list so the user can't actually see what's been posted. So this misuse of the block system enables him to talk shit about people without them being able to read his posts, and most importantly, it prevents them from having the ability to respond since they are blocked.
The problem of course is that people eventually find out through the grapevine that they are being insulted, and then the insulted user complains to Magna or myself that he can't read what Destriero is posting about him, and if he is able to read what Destriero posted somehow (by hearing about it from another member or by logging out and reading as an unregistered user), he can't even post a response back since he's on Destriero's block list.
This game playing with the block feature is unacceptable. Period. And it's a huge waste of my time dealing with complaints from users about this same issue over and over, and over again.

I never unblock anyone. The same way you work around the faults in the forum software to respond to people who have blocked you is the same mechanism I use to respond to you here.
There is no “unblocking” involved — as you very well know. So stop peddling nonsense.

Blocking someone stops them from seeing your posts and threads — which is the entire intent of block. Ignore stops you from seeing their posts and threads.
Unfortunately the ET forum software allows users to easily bypass both block and ignore.
Once again,the rules of the block function have failed to penetrate your thick head.You are not supposed to be engaging with other members from behind the block function.
