The NHL Carolina Panthers were favored to win the Stanley Cup at the start of the current playoffs.

IOW the "polls" said they had the best chance to win it all.

The NY Rangers have now beaten Carolina 3 straight, needed only one more victory to eliminate them - the favorites.

"It ain't over till (or until) the fat lady sings"

And maybe by then the fat orangeman will be singing in Rikers men's shower.

The Hurricanes are our local team. Our local sports commentators were making them out as the underdog going into the series. The Rangers, winners of the Presidents' Trophy as the team with the best record in the regular season, should have been the top contender of the two teams going into the series. Yet for some reason the betting lines had the Rangers as the underdog.

The local Hurricane fans are sad now that they are one game away from elimination -- but most don't seem surprised.

My two favorite hockey teams sucked again...didn't do anything...management sitting back and getting too fat off the past: Montreal Canadiens and the Chicago Blackhawks

I'm now supporting my backup teams: Vancouver and Edmonton. I do not care which one advances.
