Truly sad to see a young man not able to join the Army

Quote from hoodooman:

Scata is the first conservative who I ever heard of that served in Vietnam. What happened to your deferment?

I had a college deferment for a while, but my life was too hard then (I was virtually homeless, working part-time as a janitor while attending college). When I didn't enroll for classes at the start of a semester, it took the draft authorities 8 DAYS to reclassify me 1A.... and my lotto number was low enough that I wasn't going to avoid being drafted.

BTW.. I wouldn't describe my self as "A Conservative"... I don't hold to many of their values except for the desire for less government, fiscal responsibility.. If anything, I'd call myself a Libertarian.

I'm a great admirer of Revolutionary Americans and the Founding Fathers. I LOATHE our present politicos... .

I think Bush was PURE HORSESHIT as a president... and I believe Obama to be TEN TIMES WORSE...

this two bit loser decided he had enough, he tried to join the army, but because of criminal past they wouldn't let him (stole from stores, stole a car once)

here is a young man of 22, fit mentally and physically, OFFERING his life to Exxon and military industrial complex

and they won't let him do that either

They did him a favor. He should be thankful.

truly sad

I think I'll give him 5 k and teach him to trade

If that doesn't work out then ACORN will give him a job.
