True lies

Like you said, change is hard and those resistant to change will see the advocates of change as ugly. We've had nearly 8 years of the pretty smile. Isn't working on multiple fronts. Ugly is up next. No scalpel, but a wrecking ball. The political pendulum always over corrects.
Well, winning ugly is certainly possible.

It is funny, look at this thread. The Trump supporters insist on taking the conversation about Trump, instead of the issues and concerns that people have about the guy as it relates to a Trump presidency.

It is as if they are living his misogynistic personality vicariously. Everything is about Trump, not issues. Or maybe they are just employed by the guy.

Love me or hate me, but don't ignore me, is Trumps motto. Free press.

You're the one who posted an article that said Trump was basically Hitler in waiting. And a demagogue. But you want us to stick to issues? Sheesh.

Hillary is corrupt to the core, a congenital liar, a horrible person by many accounts of people who have been close to her, plus she has a long record of repeated failures of judgment and policy. But Trump is the problem.

Trump has been a little loose with his mouth, sadly. But nobody in with any gray matter at all can conclude "Trump is Hitler".... except maybe the gals on The View.

Hillary has been soooooooo bad and evil, nasty.... it's difficult to come up with a comparo or scale to measure her wretchedness.

Every election the media vilifies the republican candidate. Obama spent millions acting like Romney was some sort of terrorist ogre for something he did in high school or something.

its not racist or nazi to keep people out of your country when a percentage of them are terrorists, its smart. you keep them out until you can screen the terrorists. There is really no other logical approach.

If you don't understand that you are clown who puts the interests of the democrat party above the people of your nation.

There is no contrary argument if you think about it. So what do you do. You find and ism and call the person that ism -- Nazism racism.

if you posting ism instead of real arguments are a drone working for deception. Why? are you evil?

I agree that it is imperative that we control the borders, just like any other nation does. That is not what I meant to get across.

As far as US vs Canada travel, I think both Mexicans and Canadians can get a NEXUS card:

https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/nexus

But I admit I am confused because I have seen Canadians travel directly into the US and not go out of the international terminal at Ohare.

You get screened on the Canadian side before you board the plane. Happens to me and the family EVERY time I go North.

Here are the points made by that blog post:

  • I'm going to say something very unpopular in my world: Trump is right about some big things.
  • He's right that many Americans are getting screwed by the system.
  • He's right that the economy is not growing nearly fast enough.
  • He's right that we're drowning in political correctness, and that broken campaign finance laws have bred a class of ineffective career politicians.
  • He may even be right that free trade is not the best policy. Trump supporters are not dumb.
  • But Trump is wrong about the more important part: how to fix these problems.
  • Many of his proposals, such as they are, are so wrong they're difficult to even respond to.
  • Even more dangerous, though, is the way he's wrong. He is not merely irresponsible. He is irresponsible in the way dictators are.
  • Trump's casual racism, misogyny and conspiracy theories are without precedent among major presidential nominees.
  • He has said that a judge of Mexican descent couldn't treat him fairly because of his heritage, and that we should ban Muslims from entering the country.
  • When his supporters beat up a homeless Hispanic man and cited Trump, he called them "very passionate."
  • He has accused Obama of somehow being responsible for the recent shooting in Orlando.
  • To anyone familiar with the history of Germany in the 1930s, it's chilling to watch Trump in action. Though I know intellectually it's easy in hard economic times to rile people up with a hatred of outsiders, it's still surprising to watch this happen right in front of us.
  • It's hard to tell, as it often is with demagogues, how much is calculation and how much is genuine belief. But it's a real and terrifying possibility that Trump actually believes much of what he says. In any case, when he says it, it signals to other people that it's OK to believe.
  • Demagogic hate-mongers lead down terrible paths. It would be particularly embarrassing for us to fall for this — we are a nation of immigrants, and we know that immigrants built this country (and Trump, of course, is the grandson of immigrants and married to an immigrant).
  • Hitler taught us about the big lie — the lie so big, and so often repeated, that people end up believing it.
  • Trump's big lie is hiding in plain sight. His big lie is that he's going to make America great by keeping us safe from outsiders.
  • But he has no serious plan for how to restore economic growth, which is what we actually need. Without it, we'll be in a zero-sum game and face continued infighting. And without it, we'll lose our position as the most powerful country in the world.
  • He distracts us with hate of outsiders in the hopes that we don't notice he has no plan for the inside.
  • He has failed to put forward a serious plan for major investments in research and technology that we so desperately need. Instead, he tries to distract us with fear of Them.
  • At least Trump is willing to talk about the fact that the U.S. is not on an acceptable growth trajectory. The big truth in Trump's slogan is "again" — we do need a fundamental change to get back to where we were. Clinton's dangerously bad big lie is that there's no big problem here at all.
  • Trump is right about the problem, but horribly wrong about the solution.
My God man, even you can count! There are dozens of things you guys could answer and expand on that would actually matter to voters, but instead you chose one point in thirty.

The Emperor has no clothes.

The other direction. To go to Mexico from Ohare, I have to go to the international terminal. I have had chats with Canadians that are in the domestic terminal with non-stop flights from Ohare to say Vancouver. I have never seen a trip to Mexico on a commercial flight from the US not go out of the international terminal.

I don't know how this happens. Probably racial profiling and racism.

Why should we? You are the one who hates Trump. I agree with pretty much the whole laundry list of ideas that are said to be so desperately wrong.

My point is more basic. Any article that includes as a premise that Trump is hitler is not a serious analysis but more media slime.

It would be more accurate to compare Hillary to Evita Peron, except that Evita was actually popular and not despised like Hillary is. One thing is accurate though. If Hillary gets in after the Obama horror show, we will end up like Argentina, probably sooner rather than later.

I don't hate Trump. People have said that he is charming and warm in person. He is fiercely loyal to his inner circle. All qualities that are becoming of a man.

In fact, I thank Trump for a great deal of what he has done, win or lose. But the man has some sort of psychosis when he gets on TV. He is always selling and hustling. He is racist. He is mean in an undercutting way that betrays him.

How much of that is his own fault I don't know. Lots of people grow up racist because that was all that was ingrained into them for years as youngsters. Sad, but true.

---"good start"

  • But Trump is wrong about the more important part: how to fix these problems.
---OK

  • Many of his proposals, such as they are, are so wrong they're difficult to even respond to.
---Well a list with explanations would be nice... lets see what happens

  • Even more dangerous, though, is the way he's wrong. He is not merely irresponsible. He is irresponsible in the way dictators are.
---not good
  • Trump's casual racism, misogyny and conspiracy theories are without precedent among major presidential nominees.
----What misogny? racism?
  • He has said that a judge of Mexican descent couldn't treat him fairly because of his heritage, and that we should ban Muslims from entering the country.
---He has said we should stop Muslim immigration til we can screen out terrorists.

--- He may have gone over the top with the argument but a Judge in a case against Trump who is a member of La Raza should recuse himself. Its the judges fault for being in a group them may be seen as rascist.

"Former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales says Donald Trump has a right to question the fairness of a judge.

“An independent judiciary is extremely important. But that value is not the only one in play here,” Gonzales wrote in a Saturday op-ed for The Washington Post. "Equally important, if not more important from my perspective as a former judge and U.S. attorney general, is a litigant’s right to a fair trial,” he continued."

  • When his supporters beat up a homeless Hispanic man and cited Trump, he called them "very passionate."
--- I don't recall this... but we have seen a lot of democrat supporters hurting peaceful Trump people.
  • He has accused Obama of somehow being responsible for the recent shooting in Orlando.
--So what, so did McCain and it is arguably true.
  • To anyone familiar with the history of Germany in the 1930s, it's chilling to watch Trump in action. Though I know intellectually it's easy in hard economic times to rile people up with a hatred of outsiders, it's still surprising to watch this happen right in front of us.
---This is the big lie. Comparing a guy who says seal our borders to hitler.

  • It's hard to tell, as it often is with demagogues, how much is calculation and how much is genuine belief. But it's a real and terrifying possibility that Trump actually believes much of what he says. In any case, when he says it, it signals to other people that it's OK to believe.
---No substance.

  • Demagogic hate-mongers lead down terrible paths. It would be particularly embarrassing for us to fall for this — we are a nation of immigrants, and we know that immigrants built this country (and Trump, of course, is the grandson of immigrants and married to an immigrant).
---Sealing the borders from terrorists is not hate. We are protecting the citizens of our country. This guy is now moved on to the big lie.

  • Hitler taught us about the big lie — the lie so big, and so often repeated, that people end up believing it.
  • Trump's big lie is hiding in plain sight. His big lie is that he's going to make America great by keeping us safe from outsiders.
---Trump has been speaking about not letting China and other countries walk all over us economically for years. This guy has not become the typical media salon liar.

  • But he has no serious plan for how to restore economic growth, which is what we actually need. Without it, we'll be in a zero-sum game and face continued infighting. And without it, we'll lose our position as the most powerful country in the world.
--- Trump has put out plans.
  • He distracts us with hate of outsiders in the hopes that we don't notice he has no plan for the inside.
---There is this hate word b.s. again. no one says we have to let immigrants in. Why are we letting any immigrants in until wages go up anyway? Who the hell are this idiots who don't see that?

The rest of this is ok... accept for the fear thing...
