I thought he was referring to left and right in the general context:I might side with @treetard on this. He is comparing one party to the next in terms of votes received compared to seats gained, not the broader ideological spectrum of other parties and forming a government.
I can only guess that there will *NOT* be much to be said from the lefties on that.
The TreeFrog regards the Liberals as being "left." And so, by his own standard, the overall votes favored the "left" side of the political spectrum. The only party to the right of the PCs was the "People's Party" which got less that 300k votes.
Personally, I regard the Liberals as being somewhat more centrist, but that is beside the point. I was just taking Frog's own argument to him.
