Trouble selling MRO this morning.

Through IB's share lending program. You go long, your shares are lent out to shorters and you earn interest. Pretty simple, in theory. You were not aware of this?
Your answer is sloppy for the 2nd time. It has nothing to do with IB. At all firms margin accounts have a clause allowing your shares to be lent out.

Lol, please stop. Yes I’m aware of shares being lent.

This is why you need to know regulations.

MRO has Up-tick rule (SEC 201) from yesterday to today's aftermarket close (20:00). You should have only sold on upticks.
What is your story today to write this non-sequitur info.?

I wasn't shorting. I was selling stock I already owned from the the day before.

And IB's program is different because you have to sign a separate agreement.
Do you have an alternative explanation to what happened? No? Ok.

You are making an error in logic.Because I did not offer an answer and you did offer an answer which is wrong does not make your answer correct by default.

I started placing limit orders at 9:38am (about 8 minutes after open). I canceled them as it wasn't executing even though I was placing the limit orders at the bid. I placed the market order at 9:41 and canceled at 9:43 because it wasn't executing. I waited until I saw the stock moving again which was at 9:47. It executed as soon as I put the order in at that time, so for about 9 minutes my orders weren't executing. The rest of my trades/quotes were moving normally. It was only MRO that was weird.

If this is the case, then you need to contact etrade and determine what went wrong.

is there any evidence those routes are any worse than direct access ?
%%
Yes, worse for Etrade route;
but a limit order around a round number can be exactly the same. Part of it is mostly likely $5 barrier problem.I'm not really still sore about Etrade charging me for their free toll free[1 800] @ the time number; but others need to be aware of that....................................................................
A buy by MS bankers may solve some of those problems.
