Fred stop impersonating people. We all know I'm the real George Soros. In my spare time after making millions per day I like to visit ET to make stupid posts. Please respect my privacy.

I use refco canada, no problems, its been the same as always, not cheapest, but the people are still good. Its probably because they are the only canadian choice for commod trading. well smaller players, but they are even more expensive.

I have actually traded on Refco Pro, and I must say there are some glitches to the system. This makes sense since the software is entirely new. Like any other new system, there will be improvements made to it. As far as I'm concerned there are a lot of advantages to an in-house software:

1. the traders at Refco Trading Services do have a significant opportunity to make suggestions to the development team and have those chances implemented quickly. This is not the case for TT, where I have made a suggestion to improve the system which was promptly ignored.

2. lower desk fees now cause of Refco Pro

3. lower commissions

the fact that we do have an opportunity to have suggestions taken seriously will help improve the product. I will definitely stick around to how things shape out. I have a good feeling about this.

boy, they got you brainwashed real good! Lower desk fees? Of course you shouldn't have to pay for a trading platform when it crashes on you during fast markets. You must be a 1-lot trader, because having the "opportunity to have suggestions taken seriously" doesn't cash out when you get hung on 100 lot! Good luck buddy - you get what you pay for! SOLD!

How exactly does switching to Refco Pro mean lower commissions?

Quote from BARLI:

how much do you guys pay in commissions round trip?

i pay 25$ round trip

LOL i hope you mean unlimited contracts?

i think refco charges about 2% of your commission per contract

no, i am not kidding, i pay 12.50 per contract at Refco for pit traded futures. Tradestation charges 7$ per contract for pit traded futures...

i've been with Refco for a while and i am actually content with my fills and service they provide for me, i use discount broker services, but still my broker provides me with stuff i need. how much do you pay and what do you trade?

theres more to brokerage than cheap commissions - especially if going to the pit.

if youre happy with the service and get good fills in the pit id stay there - because paying less could well work out more expensive when slippage comes around.
