Ok now we're going to settle this once and for all: What big trendfollowing fund with AUM $1bln had a >50% "massive" drawdown in 2007. Actually 2007 was an excellent year for the large majority of the funds I am following, so name the funds with "huge drawdowns"!Quote from marketsurfer:
yeah, TF's had a good year but it was after massive drawdowns the year before. remember if a fund is down 50%, it needs to make 100% just to break even......
Don't jiggle around. Show me one >$1bln AUM trendfollowing fund that had a "massive drawdown" in 2007. Back your shit up or STFU.Quote from marketsurfer:
first, i never said any fund was down 50%. that was an example of how one needs get back to even after a drawdown.
with that said,
been told that JWH holdings have been reduced to 500 million from 2.5 billion 2 years ago.........due to redemptions and losses. not 100% certain however.

have the trend funds finally made it back to even?
Quote from EPrado:
Take a look at Bill Dunn's track record since inception and get back to me. Over the long run he crushes most out there.
Has VN made it back to even? Oh , thats right....he lost all his investors money....twice.
Stay down for the count Surf, you are out of your league.

Thats a real good approach on how to rate a fund. Cherry pick a period when it lost money. Why not start in Jan 2008 instead.
You are such a child surf . Really. There is a reason probably .0001% of the people on here actually respect you. It's ridiculous things like this.
Instead of being a cherry picking clown that you are, look back from inception to today. You won't because it proves you blatantly wrong.
It's like seeing a trader who made money 5 days in a row, loses on the 6th, then someone saying "you suck", you lost today.
Stick to writing columns that nobody reads on yahoo.
