Trend Following Research

Quote from Neenisti:

Call it what you want it, all you do is talk. You offer nothing but tainted air. What you need is a breath mint.

I repeat, either offer them a solution or shut up.

You're just pissed you will never, and I mean never get nominated for a Peabody or a Pulitzer. Those are reserved for actual journalists. You can always hope for a RAZZIE. That is definitely within your reach.

follow the surf report part 2 for highly accurate, before the fact projections at no cost.

Don't use charts, past price is a flawed idea, trade what you think not what you see, fade the crowd, follow the drivers of price, not price itself, don't buy expensive books or seminars, read altucher, read niederhoffer, read larry connors, read covel's books on the beach.

With this said, the amount of money in the large trend funds is such that buy/sell and hope is really the only strategy that can be effectively used. The outsiders have become the market. Therefore look for smaller, capacity constrained strategies for your investments and avoid the trend following funds.

The more I follow my own performance, the more it seems to be nothing more than guessing direction--- no different than buy/sell and hold--- how else can these extreme swings be explained?

Challenge my words all you wish, don't change them-- it's really poor form.

See the surf report part 2 in the journal section of this site for real time trades before the fact.

You are not one to chastise anyone on "poor form". You are the king of that tactic.

Why don't you just answer his question?

His book is . . . Covel's isn't.

The provisional patent information was online before it was purposely let expire before completing the process. The goal was to not releasethe code to open source the in 2026. But you knew this already because it was clearly stated in the thread and you said you read.

You mean to say that the ridiculous attempt to patent a "trading system" based on charts and markets going up and down was quashed after the lawyer was well paid to attempt such a feat

OR was it smart marketing move to create value where there is
none?

OR was it simply "made up"to sell more expensive books and seminars in the 3rd world to dirt farmers and wannabe financial tycoons?

What's the patent number by the way?

Here is a link that talks about what has been tried to be patented in the trading field---- how ridiculous can one get?

You patent a process not a chart or market. A 6th grader knows that.
Not hard to patent or program that which is able to be flowcharted.
Expensive seminars like your buddy selling free information?
When did China, Singapore, Australia or Europe become 3rd world?
Dirt farmers with Master's degrees are dumber than you? Most of them make you looke like a 2nd grader. You are too ignorant to use Google.
You were given the provisional patent number accourding to the thread. Look it up.

Huh? I don't know your email.--- why not just post it here, in the light of day for all to see?

Provisional Patents--- can't anything be applied for one? There is no DD or other hoops to apply--- I don't get the point... must be a marketing ploy to prey on the ignorant and naive.

Still haven't figured out how to use Google yet?
Pathetic!

Your boss Covel has it, ask him.
