You regard someone who asks a relevant question as an angry crank? Is that the best you got? Rather than deflect the question, why not just answer it? Is your book as oblique as your responses to simple questions? Since you post here and are a sponsor, why do you take umbrage to the simple question of what additionally useful information is included in your new book that is not already covered in your old book? To put a finer point on it, how is the new book not just a rehash of the old book? And why does my asking this question render me an angry crank? Judging by your responses, I will concede that one of us certainly appears to be a crank...

I hate trend following, believe its a feel good trading idea that is fatally flawed-- buying new highs, selling new lows (following the trend) is ridiculous.
With this said, it doesn't mean I can't apprieciate books on the subject and enjoy reading them. I like reading books on high strangeness (UFO's, Kreskin, black magic, etc) also- it certainly doesn't mean I believe everything contained-- far from it.
In addition, Covel is a great writer and researcher----- his books are among the best written ever in this genre. ( not to mention the all time best sellers)

I'll agree with marketsurfer here when he says he can appreciate books on subjects he doesn't fully agree with. I own all of Covel's current books even though I don't agree with his narrow view of trading or investing in the market's trend environment.
As in every other professional arena there are different schools of thought that, at some point, all come together to make a cohesive and clear understanding of a central idea. For some reason there are individuals here that are threatened by this concept.
My cousin's last store manager was diagnosed with terminal cancer 4 years ago and given 6 months to live by two leading oncologists in Pittsburgh. She was told that there were no treatments worth trying. She was specifically told the alkaline diet was "fake science". She instead chose to move to New England and follow Dr. Robert Young's and Emma Deangela's alkaline diet to try to starve the cancer out since she had nothing to loose. After radically changing her diet and loosing 100 pounds, she has been cancer free for 12 months. She did this all without chemo as well. She is in a recovery group of 50 patients from around the world that were all told they were terminal yet they are all recovering. Now, not all of the group had the same miraculous results as others but the shear fact that the supposed "leaders" of their field all called the treatment bogus yet they have such a good success rate stands on its own merits.
Great writers possess humility and a hunger for knowledge. I'll let you all decide whether those traits are displayed here from the resident writers and journalists.
