Travelling/Nomad Traders

The wheel?
The internet did exist 20 years ago and was useful for trading, costs were more prohibitive but plenty of people traded using the internet in 1997. I believe satellite net was a thing already back then, so you could trade from anywhere, theoretically.

I had already realtime datafeed in the early nineties from :
  1. dow jones teletrac by some "twisting of cables for phones"
  2. signal by satellite
Both were expensive. Signal was around $200 a month. Plus installation of satellite dish around $2000.
Teletrac could only be rented at $1,850 a month plus 19% taxes.

20 years, as long as internet connection costs a lot, I never and ever use big money for connection.

I just mean that with nominal fee such as at Starbucks at the most, we can use internet anywhere in city so that we are free to trade anywhere.

Specifically, roughly 20 to 30 bucks a month is free for internet connection IMHO.

I used dial-up back in 97, it was very slow and more expensive but slower forms of trading were completely possible. It's just that now the internet is globally available to every peasant.

Agreed. Unlike 20 years ago, equal opportunity to every human, for internet.
