Quote from resinate:
Ok. All day I have been trying to reconcile these two facts.
1. The Bush and Blair administrations have repeatedly lied about security threats for ulterior motives. Further, the last time we had color coded terror warnings was the last national election.
2. Terrorists are real and have conducted terror attacks using airplanes a # of times.
How do you sort this out?
1 & 2 are just different sides of the same coin.
The Aug 10 events in the UK proves that the security risks are there. How the leaders are trying to convince the public to take this serious is another matter.
We need only to look at the responses of the apologists and sympathisers on this board to see how stupid and shortsighted humanity is. (it is the same shortsightedness as Chamberlain had with Hitler)
It was Dale Carnegie who stated that in 6 months time the memory and hence perception of events can be 100% changed.
Like I have been pointing out: we hear consistently the rhetoric about Bush / Blair / Israel being evil but those things do not explain Muslim initiated violence elsewhere in the world. If this violnece was only directed at the West then I could still have some form of sympathy. But when this violence turns against the local population then I consider something else being at play.
We need only to look at how the Taliban treats their women and their daughters. That has nothing to do with the West or Israel or Jews.
Time and time again people from the west go to their countries and (at a minimum try to) observe their customs. When I am an immigrant I will try to adapt as much as possible to the culture and the laws of my new country. After all it is a privilige to be an immigrant.
These people are immigrants and then try to pervert (with force and bullying, look at Russia, Spain and France) the laws of the country that they come to. They want their own sharia. They want their women circumsized so they will stay "loyal". They do not care that it is prohibited in their new country.
They have no respect for the local customs and then start to complain that a cross or a statue with the 10 commandments offends them and needs removing. Yet we have to put up with their local Imam calling them 5 times a day on a loudhailer to prayers.
Trying to tell me Islam is a religion of peace is a load of crock in my opinion. Something is loose in the minds of these people and I know not every Muslim is like this, there are good ones too. But like pointed out elsewhere on ET: why is it that all these terrorists are Muslim?
