A while ago, I was at a charity dinner with a race car driver. He said something along the lines of "you have the general idea of the racing line, but you keep making small adjustments to it on every lap". Same applies to thus business - you want to establish a process-driven mindset right away, but keep tweaking the actual process as you go to achieve best results.
That is very interesting. I completely agree.
I've done many years of racing myself.
I see many parallels with trading.
Many think driving fast is easy, but like the market,
the track conditions change almost every lap..
your tire condition changes every lap,
your brake performance also varies,
Every lap, you have to make mental notes in how the car is changing, and remember to make small driving technique changes the next time you approach the same corner.
Intra-day, I find it just as challenging to stay cool, clear minded in thought, remember past situations hours, days, months ago, calculating probability and adjusting risk constantly.
People will ask, what's your technique and driving line through that corner.
I'd answer, "it depends"
It's the same with questions on market direction. "it depends".
