Can I buy a cable to transfer data from an old computer to a new one?

How much data do you need to move? Maybe you should move it to a cloud-based storage so you never have to move it again. If it a large amount of data, the fastest way to move it is to move the old HD to the new PC and move it from drive to drive.
I am aware of the cloud, but I have never used it.
I was always concerned with the cloud being hacked and losing all my private data.
But it is probably over reacting.
If I was using the cloud, it would be available anytime, anywhere.
The idea of right clicking every file and sending it to the new laptop is overwhelming.
I'll probably find a local computer shop and pay them $35 to do it for me.
Then, start using the cloud.

I use dropbox for personal data I use every day. By leaving the files there, it is held on my local PC but updates to the cloud when I save. That is limited in size, I have about 5.5GB. That is free. Then I pay about $12/year for Icloud for basic storage that I want to access but not live like Dropbox. That is about 50GB. If my PC crashes, I only lose time, as I can recover all my files on any PC. Dropbox is secure but not as much as iCloud which requires my cell phone for verification to access.

How much data do you want to copy? How many GB?
I don't recall the figure, but I was only using about 10 percent of my total capacity
If it is not too much data you could just get a suitable USB stick, copy all data from the old PC onto it and then stick it in the new PC.
