Trading with Stop- Loss

These are the results of a mechanical trading system in the DAX future.
This guy always takes his losses and tries to let profits go. The problem is that profits just don't go their way. It seems that this guy is bleeding to death, slowly.

From may until now: -785 points in the fdax. 1 point= 25 Euros, which is about - 20.000 Euros per contract. And he always takes his losses.
IMHO a SL doesn't mean you have an edge.

If the system has such a consistant performance, simply multiply the system's signals by -1. :confused: :D

Indirectly it should, but the StopLoss itself is not the edge.

The fact that you have a StopLoss in place should mean that you have entered a trade which has an edge.

inandlong, I'm sure it's only a question of wording, but please explain further.
 
You're right Mr. Sub'. It is probably my wording which is actually a response to heil's wording. If he had said the stoploss doesn't give you an edge, etc.

I'm just saying that the trade gives you the edge, not the stoploss.
