I trade FX vol at work on UBS Neo.
I am guessing this isn't like trading spot fx on ToS, lol.

I am going to be busy all weekend researching your last 3 or so posts.

I didn't post this trade in realtime; I had mentioned it to McNoob two days ago at SPX 2805 for Thursday or Friday's trading:

@destriero I've been known to creep on some of your threads. It's great stuff actually. Half or more of it goes over my head tbh. But, that is what I am going to remedy.

Since I have thrown TradingView to the curb, I think I may try to just share my ToS charts. It lacks the nifty analysis and video features but it gets the job done.
@krugman25, have you every tried MotiveWave? We have a lot of analysis features and you can export your charts as images, or to share with other MotiveWave users (they'd import your charts into their copy of MotiveWave--called Repository).

I appreciate the comment. I will check it out. Can you quick answer if, for TDA, the platform supports all of the markets: futures, stocks, options, Forex? For example, NinjaTrader links to TDA but they don't do Forex or options I believe.

The TDA API we have access to (given to us by TDA) only supports Stocks and Options currently. But we do have other supported providers for futures and forex (shown on our website).

I called a touch of 2828 SPX (today) with nooby in email yesterday, and had some local bear diagonals running. The SPX long APR31/MAR5 2825/50 puts from 17.70 going off today. They had traded above 26, but waiting for the close. Also went long the APR31/MAR5 2850/60 long call diagonal to hedge and covered the expiring 50C yesterday.

And yes. I will publish the PNL.

The majority of the position was APR1/APR5 ugh. Forced to hedge on my mistake from 2825 cash, but still eked out an equity NH.

I feel like I should bring something to the table as well. So this week I opened 5 trades, 4 still open and closed out 1 today. The trade that was closed was an XLE bear call spread 63/69 APR19. I closed it early for a loss of about 0.1%. I will have more to say about that trade when I journal later, but essential I made a stupid, stupid entry. I know better, I know my rules, I broke my rules like a moron, and because of it had to take my first trading loss in 7 trades. I had a good winning streak going that, based on my 4 still open trades which are all in the green, could have likely extended longer.

I would like to learn the syntax everyone uses here so we are all talking the same language. What is the syntax used here to describe a vertical spread position?

I want to take a moment to appreciate the fact that most of the snow in my yard has melted. And to enjoy a picture of my little piece of Iowa. Soon I will be busting out the propane fire table and my wife and I will be sipping latte's on our deck late into the evening each night. It's the simple things...
