trading with Interactive Brokers by phone?

how can I trade my IB account if I am not at the computer? Is it possible to call and make a trade without speaking to a rep?

FYI depending on where you are and the time of day there may not be any live rep at IB, only robots

You can only close positions, and only using market orders.

Normally you should be able to get through quickly, but if IB's systems are down then you might experience a significant wait.

the reason I ask is because I am having trouble installing the Java plug-in. However, I found a web based order entry form on their site that allows me to trade w/out the Java plug in.

You must speak to a live person to trade by phone. Ib doesn't have an automated phone trading system if thats what you mean. But you can access the system through a pda or cell phone.
