Trading will be dead in next 10-20 years

Agree, but AI will analyze historical data in nano seconds.
And in doing so Mr. AI will surely discover that prices have always moved in trends and that it is best to follow the trend. So if Mr. AI learns his stuff, there will always be trends for us humans to trade.

How do mere mortals learn? AI is only as good as it's teacher. Think about it ...

humans can learn by simple observation

Also humans can also learn analytically e.g if given a> b and b > c we can derive a >c even if it is not directly given very simple analogy but u get the point ...

AI will derive these hidden relationships in massive unrelated data sets much more effective way than human..

Methinks a lot of people here have been watching too many sci-fi movies. And remember Big Blue from IBM, which was beaten? How come it has not yet evolved it's own intelligence to beat us?

A computer chip is only as smart as the humans that program it. And humans will always have the edge. And will also always inadvertently program errors into its routines, because we are human. We err.

Deep blue is not AI it uses brute force to calculate all possible moves to make decision...

the same approach collapses in more complex game "Go" as the number of possible combination is huge ...that is why AI comes into picture..
Google deepmind is first good AI demonstration where it beat human in "Go"
And now Poker which is even more complex than Go where it involves bluffing..

You forgot to think. Try again...

So maybe someone from the AI crowd could give a detailed example of what AI would do if ES was last quoted at say 2200 or whatever.Or if a stock is trading at $50.

yes exactly, always...

If no one every told you A B C , would you know A comes before B and C came after B? They would appear random. Same with numbers, you would not know sequence. You wouldn't know to read left to right (arabic is right to left). AI program wouldn't know either. It wouldn't know the difference between on and off. It would only know if a human programmed the patterns.

Here is the case - trading game can only be profitable if there are A LOT of losers. With the rise of Ai and it's availability all the losers will get access to all those computing powers and will make WAY LESS mistakes, and THAT is what kills the whole trading game.

So trading is a zero sum game? I think not.

As long as there will be people/institutions trying to make money trading there will be competition, even between AIs, and hence space for traders to make money.
