OK...I'll admit it ...i watch Emeril from time to time ...Im telling you if you are looking for low carb he is the man...he never uses low fat anything....he makes some awesome dressings and almost all his sauces are low carb...check it out and you get some great ideas.
In a restaurant if I'm not sure of the available dressing's carb content I order mayo and mustard on the side and oil and vinegar. In a glass I stir up mayo, oil, salt, pepper and just enough mustard to give it a slight flavor, the water is added to give it a thinner consistency. delicious.Quote from dbphoenix:
About ranch. There's a website called "CopyKat Recipes". This is from Michael's in Annapolis:
2 C. Buttermilk
2 C. Mayonnaise
1/4 C. chopped fresh Parsley
1/2 large Onion, chopped
1-2 Garlic cloves, finely chopped
As you can see, there are few carbs here, if you use mayo.

When I started the lo-carb thing, I had to start making my own salad dressings because the bottled kind had so much sugar, but nothing could be simpler. They're just mayo and something. Mayo and ketchup. Mayo and ketchup and relish and chopped eggs. Mayo and pepper. Mayo and salsa. Mayo and avocado. Mayo and dill. Mayo and tomato and bacon. You get the idea.
