Not that you sound like an asshole or anything, but where I become unclear is exactly why you have invested such remarkable effort around here to adopt a personal crusade against the Atkins system in the first place. Your dad a doctor or something? Long as it's working for people and there are ZERO proven adverse health effects, I personally fail to see how any of this discussion is your concern.
This inspired me to hunt up a low carb pizza dough recipe, and I found one here. Those who are interested will want to take a look through that site. They have literally thousands of low carb recipes that look pretty decent.Quote from jem:
I know if I keep this up I could get to any weight I wanted. I also know I love pizza and beer. It will be interesting. Vanity and health and long term good cheer vs short term happiness.
I know I've been looking for a reason to power up the bread machine.Quick and Easy Low Carb bread
1/4 cup flaxmeal
2 tbsp. pecan meal (or other nut meal)
1/2 cup protein powder, plain or vanilla
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup seltzer water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Generously butter a standard loaf pan. Beat all ingredients for 1-2 minutes using a food processor or electric mixer. Pour into pan and bake 25-30 minutes until middle of loaf springs back to the touch. Enjoy.

Bread Machine Bread
If you don't mind the soy flour, here's the list of ingredient to add to the bread machine:
3/4 cup lukewarm water
1 tablespoon butter or oil
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup vital wheat gluten
1/2 cup soy flour
1/2 cup oat flour
1 teaspoon sugar (needed for the yeast)
2 teaspoons or 1 package rapid rise yeast
White cycle, regular crust, small loaf (but use the extender, if you have one, because this really rises well).

FPC, you just posted this link to an opinion on Atkins

Did you delete it because it was from 1999? No wonder...

Hmm...PussyCat....you have a one track mind....and I think the train is derailed.
The new Atkins products are really good.
The came out with Ice Cream that I picked up at the health food store that is a real treat!
I shop in their catalog on line. The I like the low salt cheese crisps, the other ones are WAY too salty for me.
I made their diet ice cream mixes. I like the one I make out of the recipe book better. Or the ones that come frozen.
There is a line of Belgian Chocolates for low carb diets that is so good....their milk and white chocolate is to die for. Pure De-Lite brand.
Do not buy that "Beanit Butter" spend the extra 2 carbos on peanut butter. That stuff is awful.
I always had problems with low carbo because I am a chocoholic and now that is no problem. Atkins has this Endulge line. I have tried all the chocolate products and they are very good!![]()
