investor
uptrend - press BUY
uptrend - worry about the sky falling down
downtrend - can only PRESS BUY
downtrend - HODL Hold on to Dear Life
downtrend - for some, rotate the chart by 180 deg.



trader
uptrend - press BUY
downtrend - press SELL

I do both. As long as the returns are far bigger from trading than from investing, it is fine for me.

At least the risk adjusted returns from trading should be for anyone much better than on investing. Otherwise something is wrong with the trading approach.There must be a benefit for all the work when you do trading.

I have had more success investing rather than trading, but there is a lot more involved in trades which I find more attractive, investors are just not as risk tolerant as traders in my opinion.
