Trading the news?

I think he's saying that if you can manipulate both the news and the market in the short term what would you do? You'd manipulate both. I think you can systematically play this assumption.
Yeah, I just wanted to make fun of him for repeatedly using and misspelling dimention...

And my answer would be to do nothing. I've always steered far clear from anything the feds might deem a no-no.

what lol... ok so dimension... why doesn't this stupid editor give auto correct.

the feds what.. there is nothing illegal here, just different spins of the same thing... like buy the good news or sell the good news... both happens on the chart, but it's your job to figure out which.... and get rich..

I'm not an attorney, but I'm fairly certain that "...you have enough account size to move the market (only when the market is vulnerable), and you also control the media," would constitute price manipulation.

'fairly certain' means uncertain :) welcome to the world of trading where dog eats dog in the purest form... this is the greatest game of all, and manipulation is an integral part of it.

His opinion though lol. I'm a technical trader and do not trade the news and I'm fine keeping investors account safe rather than try to trade the news and get hit by spikes to stop loss, and market goes in your direction after that. It's better to be safe than sorry. 5 years track records without trading the news is a big one.

Exactly ,Bank manager.
To trade the news LOL ,have to start with the truth; they want YOU to panic sell + churn comissions, or payment plan for order flow. And another elite trader noted CNBC has underperforming fund managers on, wanting YOU to buy/ take the other side of thier losing trade LOL-LOL

So it could be done; but like the market maker noted, you will probably get the news before he does + he has better things to watch than the news.IBD/newspaper has some good news, 200 day moving average ;so any thing can be possible/profitable in the stock market. NOT a prediction+ not a TV news reporter.:D:D,:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Because the editor code was written by someone who grew up in an era when there was no autocorrect, and if you needed to look up the spelling of a word, you used a physical dictionary. You know, a real book.

Don't get lazy with aurocorrect and grammarly! Always have a Merriam-Webster collegiate tome at yer side, man!

trade the news yes, but it's a little deeper than 'trade the news'... you have to look at the whole picture -

- how has the price reacted in the past to similar news... e.g. every time a trade talk breaks down, were the price shocks getting weaker? stronger? or the same?

- what was the over all trend thru similar events... e.g. what the SP did since the trade war started;

it's at least 2 dimentional chess, maybe even 3.... definitely not 1 dimention.

Please offer an example of 1D chess. Does it involve 5th grade spelling proficiency?

Oh, 1D chess is easy. Since there is no movement on any plane, all I have to do it pick my point. So I pick...Umm...a Knight. You pick....Queen. Damnit! You won!

Wait wait, I know...I pick...King!

You pick...Queen! Checkmate! WTF!

Ahh hah, now I am catching on. I pick Queen.

And you picked Queen also? Stalemate!

Man, that 1D chess is boring.

All brokers say ''Trade news events with no restrictions!''. There's a solid reason behind that, isn't lol?
I don't trade the news because I want to avoid unpredictability and not take big risks.
Yes, but you are not making money…
True. But I am not losing money either.
Essentially, by not risking to lose money, I am in fact, making money.
