Further back-testing has revealed something pretty significant... for ES I have stayed out of any trade in first 30 minutes... using my entry criteria I just back tested last few weeks for NQ, for the 11 days that would have signaled and entry, 8 would have hit a 10 Point target, only 2 stopped out at -5 and one break even. When I get time I will go back at least a full 30 days of trading.... interesting

Are you really telling everyone here that you had no idea how the NQ moves? You said you used to trade it, so what, all of a sudden you completely didn't look at it for years? This coming from the guy who didn't know about the 4:15 ET shutdown shouldn't be a surprise.
Furthermore, it sure would have been nice of you to post your trade in real time, not coming back now gloating about how 14:30 trade worked perfectly. I might as well say my 09:59am long worked perfectly as well, and I just closed it. (oh look, that ended up being the low of day for the NQ!)
All we need now from you is your delayed data NQ chart from the CME!
You're completely disregarding that for all this wonderful profit potential of the NQ given the bigger swings, that this is a two sided argument. You can be taken out just as quickly as you get into profit.
If you went long at 14:30 CST, or 15:30 ET, that is a very dangerous place for both in my opinion, especially from ES since you're essentially going long just below 2440.50 swing high from hours ago.
I already explained that previous post was referring to the correct time where I live, Califronia.
it was back in 2011 when I traded the NQ. I blew myself up, had no regard for Stops, was totally out of control. I guess I got a bad taste in my mouth for the NQ and went to ES.
I don't have the time or the motivation to post trades in real time every day. I am not on this site to brag, I am here to learn and improve.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think you should either because it does take away from trading, but there is just something so fake about you, so fake about your posts, about all the threads that you start, about how innocent you seem to sound, about how you just discover things by chance that you overlooked, about how you so quickly backtest your strategy and find it works so much better on the NQ and switch on a dime because one trade in the NQ works while the one in ES fails.
Its like you're walking through a mine field picking flowers and making comments about how pretty they all look.
Innocent? Maybe I am just too honest. I don't care if I look stupid with my comments, I am not here to win a popularity contest. I learn new things all the time. The NQ thing is just me trying to get better. I have not decided yet to switch over. But I do believe that the ES is being dominated by professionals, HFT's and ALGO's that has made it more difficult to trade over time. My comment on those 2 trades really means nothing, it is just interesting.

Days ??? You need to backtest several years at the minimum.
You mentioned in another post you weren't ready or weren't going to trade Emini ES futures for several months. I think that was early June you stated such.
Now you're talking about real money trades or simulator trades and we're still in the month of June ?
Regardless, what backtesting software you used to backtest Emini ES and NQ futures ?
Yeah, I know you could have backtested manually but to do such going back several years is a weekend's worth of work at the minimum. Simply, it seems odd that you're already discussing in a way that you're trading now so soon.
If so, why the rush ?
In addition, you've acknowledge its just only one day and then later announce in the same message post you will be switching to NQ exclusively.
What are some of the basic statistics you have from your backtest ?
As I stated in my other reply to you (posted above)...backtesting a few days or few months (you only mentioned backtesting June) will quickly lead you to the poor house.

Actually, I'm an advocate of "manual backtesting" because it allows the trader to see the chart and notice differences that an computer will not notice to be impacting the results.
Yeah, its a pain in the butt, time consuming but worthwhile when done correctly.
Hope it works well for you because rushing back into the markets rarely has good results involving the Emini Futures.
