i want to add that VPA or VAP is not a magic formula: i used it when i started out in day trading and i lost money ; this time 8 years later it has stopped my losses and trades are happening naturally.
What changed between now and then? i do not know.

Finished the week with 400% gain

but that is not why i was happy or that was not why, i f eel my journey, which i started 10 years ago,has ended having reached my destination.

Traders want profitability but i wanted a lot more than that:a deeper understanding of the markets.

This ,most people,not only most traders, said was impossible,that markets were random,that the only thing you could control were risk reward.

This sounded absurd to me because putting money at risk when you have no idea what was going on in a random environment,is the most stupid thing anyone can do.

Yet millions of traders,some quite famous,operate in this way.

the first person to point out this absurdity was Wyckoff then Williams and others.These said that markets were controlled, moved or manipulated, in a planned way which left clear signs on the charts
i thank these traders for their guidance.

actually i have not.....

but he does get personal....or so i have concluded.

however this forum is for discussion and i enjoy replying and dissecting the most personal or even insulting of comments.

The market insults me all the time ,shows, nay proves, that i am an idiot,and i did not put the market on ignore,as many people do.

i am flattered you actually visited my journal.
i use 5 min though i often glance at other time frames just to see i not TOTALLY in conflict with what i can see at a glance,

if you see the upper left corner it does say "eurusd 5m"

like your take on holy grails....but you could buy one "master the markets' by williams. he turned my trading around....but i had to walk his talk which i managed to do, second time around.The first time i read his book was 7 years back and i blew my account.
this time around, i inflated my account! By 400%.
you seem like a smart experienced and good hearted trader: what could be the reason for this change of fortune:i was trading but losing for 7 years so maybe the experience helped this time around

we are all losers eventually even lucky people finally lose, but at sometime during the path we walk. we ask ourselves is all this random or can we actually find something that actually works and that we can depend on again and again. we all struggle with that task of finding our way, it's not easy to do alone.

i was very successful my first two years of trading when i first started and then i hit a streak where all i did was lose off and on for 10 years. i was transitioning from a discretionary trader to a automated trader in the late 80's early 90's and i had no idea it would take me that long to figure it out.

so your story resonates with me somewhat as i see your struggles, comments and others bashing while you seek your way to replicate successful trades to be consistent. you are not the only person who has gone down this path, i will say you seem to have what it takes at least to stick with it. for that who would not at least acknowledge your determination. m
