Trading stocks in London?

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have something of a primer on trading the London markets? Just the real basics of it, I am trying to expand my horizons, as it were, outside the U.S. markets (mostly to test "out of sample" data to make sure things aren't curve fitted, etc.)

I'd appreciate any information!

I guess the above post is a little ambiguous.

I mean mainly differences between NY and London, i.e. trading in pence? etc.

I think I can get a decent list of stocks to test based on companies with high volumes, but any help in that regard would be greatly appreciated as well.
