NinjaTrader is free to demo trade. Their live data demos last 21 days and limit you to 3 demos every 3 months or something, but you can just use IP Fuck and a new email address. I use it for data and charting for free.
You can also open an account at TD Ameritrade and choose to deposit funds later and get free real time data with ThinkOrSwim. However if you login on the demo side to trade, it is delayed 15 minutes. It's also a horrible platform.
If you want to demo trade futures or FX, use NinjaTrader. It's real time data, and the sim is the best out there. Accounts for order delay, partial fills, etc.
