Quote from ocean5:
A) By our own wish;
B) There are 3 ways out there:
1.Bhakti (devotional service to the Supreme God);
2.Ashtanga (not recommended in Kali - no one will make it,ever);
3.Gyana (the path of philosophical thinking).
There is another one - Karma Yoga,but it is still has to do with the material world.By heading this way you can only re-born on Earth again,in better conditions,if you did good.
So, in reality,there are only 2 ways to ''escape''.But there is still no guarantee.So make your choice.
Thanks very much!
Those four translate roughly into:
1.) devotion
2.) the alignment of movement and breath
3.) right knowledge
4.) the effect of actions; good actions>good effects (may include right beliefs which influence actions)
It takes a lot of #3, imo, to be able to speak about the differences relative to the goal. My current path is along with #3, and i still find it challenging.
The goal is to "escape" imagination so as to continue with (or resume) the experience of Being Reality.
#1.) A path of devotion works toward this end by aligning the false self and the True Self so closely, that eventually, the one (false self) is subsumed into the other (True Self). It is characterized by the phrase,
"Thy will be done". Finally, it is understood that the
will of the True Self was always the true(est) will of the false self, which had, for a while followed it's own wishes (fantasy, imagination). Without any other will, the goal is achieved, and the experience of Being Reality is resumed (continued). George Harrison may have been a follower along this path, which begins with devotion to an advanced teacher and/or to an unseen
"My Sweet Lord".
#2,) I can't speak about #2, but have heard some very interesting things. I would say that helpful chemicals, such as
5-meODMT could be included in this category. Maybe even massage therapy. Its seems to be about using concepts that imagination has made, to transcend (escape) the imagination. It seems, that within imagination, there have been placed some "clues", which you might discover by, for example, finding the right frog, or finding the right - most relaxed? - body posture. Reminds me of the computer adventure game "Kings Quest".
#3.) Right knowledge is what i specialize in, until i am ready to implement the last and final "path", that i don't see on the list of four above. I'll talk about that later. But it should be clear that i am fairly demanding when it comes to how concepts (words, phrases, parables) should be interpreted. I don't tolerate loose translations, mixed messages, and double-mindedness (even though we are all prone to this). And it's why, whenever i'm faced with a Bible believer, i am the
master, and the believer must become the
student (disciple)...or else the believer must exit my circle of influence. I've been known to tell such believers that there is a ten foot circle around me, and that if they continue to stand in that circle, the will be my student, and i will be the teacher. I do not allow them to violate that understanding, try as they might. If they don't like it, they can leave. That's always the case because you don't have to be (like me) a very advanced teacher to be a master of infantile Biblical rhetoric. Right knowledge is about holding (being vigilant about) right thinking in mind long enough to transcend the built-in
deficiencies of the thinking mind. And then, the experience of Being Reality can continue (resume). Right knowledge can be punctuated with occasional injections of knowledge, direct from it's source (Reality), and these serve as "lamps" to light the way.
#4.) Actions are really the effect of beliefs. So, before any action, a mind must believe something first. So this path is really also psychological. Beliefs are actually responsible for all meta-physical phenomenon...for the appearance of human beings. As human beings continue to believe falsely, their actions will be terrible. If they can change their beliefs (repent) their actions may be tolerable. I would say it's the effects of the change in beliefs, over time, getting better and better, that imagination ( a belief system) can be overcome, and Being Reality can resume (continue).
I'll talk about a fifth, and, imo, final path for a very advanced learner - later.
But i think it's noteworthy that so much effort must be given to overcoming a realm of imagination. It has a way of capturing our attention with a vice grip. And this is why it has been compared to "prison" , to "hell", and something to be "overcome".
