Because today was LTD on the H contract.
Why would somebody trade an illiquid month?
Because not everyone who utilizes futures contracts is a specerlator.
That is something i have completely zero knowledge of
yesterday day range - a massive 13%
With the increased volatility, several firms are really ramping up their staffing for trading NG.
Any prediction as to when CME will add a Micro NG? They are adding Micro Copper; I would guess a Micro Natural Gas is right around the corner, drawing in even more traders. Quite a few of whom will find out it can indeed be a Widow Maker without crafty risk management!
Investment bank TD Securities said it is beefing up its natural gas trading desk, while fund manager Balyasny Asset Management, pipeline operator Williams Companies and oil refiner Phillips 66 are beefing up or building gas trading, according to four people familiar with the matter.

mini copper volume is extremely low.
the mysterious strange CME is going to add micro copper futures !!!
my goodness!!!
traders are simply not interested to trade mini copper futures.
they prefer the big size contract.
mini NG volume is rather low.
Based on CME's past behavior, I am sure they will
add micro NG futures too!!
