Trading Mentor/Coach wanted!!

Steve46 can't help himself because he has an agenda and posting on ET is addicting. Steve46 is an easy target because he is so arrogant and inconsistant.

For the record I am nobody's sock puppet. If I was either Samson77 or Steve46 I would do serious harm to myself.

ANYONE can come here and read the posts. If you want to search you must register. OLD posts from 2001-2002 are worthwhile. Posting means nothing and is time consuming and counter productive. What else is there to do until the FOMC comes out? See how many posts you read of mine during regular trading.

With respect to the OP, many posters to this thread provided excellent advice. I recommend heading over to the Journals section of this web site. Find several Journals which speak to the variety of trading vehicles. Locate examples of commodities, equities, bonds, options, currency and other trading vehicles. Send a PM to the Journal Originator and ask why they chose to trade 'Product X.' The answers you receive should provide you some insight into the advantages and disadvantages of trading a particular financial vehicle. This information, once obtained, should assist you in determining which vehicle best suits your needs and trading account size.

After making your decision on what to trade, you can then begin to focus on how to trade. Scattered throughout this web site, numerous individuals have posted advice on how to go about educating oneself. The search function above can lead you to those posts. I wish you success as you embark upon this journey.

There is nothing wrong with a little heated debate. It unleashes the extra energy and helps keeping a cool mind while trading. Both Steve and Samson are from now on among my favorite ET members. :p

Dear traders,

I would like to thank all the participated members who posted a reply to this thread the past few weeks.

Some people also sent me a private message (which I do appreciate of course), but please don't think it were many PM's....
I still have to look at it more in detail, so I can't say yet if I know the holy grail by now :)

I would send you an excellent referral to the best mentor in the business BUT certain people in here have ruined that for you.

I no longer help other traders in the room with anything but free advise and free material because the one time I referred a few others to the ONLY good mentor I found (after 2 years searching and spending 30k) I was persecuted by a moron steve46 and NOBODY stuck up for me except for the two people that I referred. :D :mad:

So I could have saved you a ton of time and effort and $$$ in helping you with your search BUT I have learned that trying to help other traders here in ET with anything but good advise and common sense tips is NOT worth it.:mad:

In all seriousness though knowing what I know now in hindsight even though this mentor is absolutely amazing it is still better to learn on your own and build a method around your personality and knowledge base.

Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by John Murphy contains an excellent explanation of EVERY tool that you will ever need to trade with.

So I will recap for you.

Step 1. Study the charts with nothing but candlesticks and volume for 6 months.

Step 2. Read the above mentioned book a few times.

Step 3. Paper trade for 6 months.

Step 4. In a year you should be much farther ahead then 80% of ET members.

It took me 3 years to figure out those three steps and I wish someone would have made it this easy for me back then.

"Steve46" has 3,521 page views as of today. The reason for this is that people here got pissed at Samson. Read it and make up your own mind.

By the way, on the off chance that you want to learn to trade you can either use the search function to find subjects of interest, or you can approach those who have demonstrated their good will to answer your questions. In any case, I suggest you think critically about the subjects you talk about and look for consensus from other traders here on the site. Many of us will be glad to help you no strings attached. Take it slow.
