I was told you could only go back three years. How did you go back to 2014?

Yes, since they changed how futures were taxed, it was only 3 years, but there was a special provision, again I think due to Covid, that permits I think 7-year carry-back. However, I'm not sure if it was futures carry-back, or maybe just NOL, as I'm a trader in stocks & stk options, but not futures. Maybe it was just "regular" business NOL that was able to go back 7 years.
