Nice trade at 9.51

I know the Specialist wasn't filling too many orders down there for retail customers - you musta got real lucky

someone else i know put in an order to marketable limit order to buy at 10.50 when the stock was printing 9.45 and got filled 1 point higher.

Uncanny

I traded ISLD on all TYC trades today. No one should have been sending orders to the floor as quick as this stock was moving.

If I knew I could get done on ISLD, I'd never send an order to the floor again!

other uncanny things...short MO before had news hits...long MERQ before a wild spike to the upside...

Fortune favors the bold.

The MO short was purely a TA play. Wether or not bad news was released the stock was still favoring the short side. Keep in mind that news usually leaks out to certain analysts before it's announced which causes these chart formations signaling short leading up the news release.

The timing of it all made me come to that conclusion. It's taught me whole new level of respect for the charts.

I set my stops on an alert server so no one knows what my stop price is until the bid or ask triggers the alert, then the order is sent out.

how/where do you do this?

thanks

Seanote,

I invite you into the chatroom - IMHO, it is a better venue than "posting" the trades.

nitro

PS - I realize the disadvantages as well...

I don't have time to watch these posts throughout the day, but i'm just wondering....

is Seanote posting this stuff in realtime? cause if he is, I am going to make time to watch this thread during the trading day.. :D

Yes Seanote posts in real time. I have been reading this for a few months. It has been honest and very upfront. If I could trade like him I would be a very happy camper.

Seanote,

Are your trade signals mostly intraday/mechanical, or do you take into account the market movement for the last few days and incorporate them into your decisions? For example, did the big gap down open on friday after an already extended down move affect your trading signals at all? Or did you stick to intraday signals no matter how the market behaves the week before or how far it gaps up/down?

My signals are all technical for intraday and swing trading. I put a little weight into fundamentals for swing trades. I don't put any emphasis on market movement over the previous days in daytrading but do consider it with my swing trades. In regards to Friday's market, I wasn't in front of my computer until an hour or so before close so I didn't have the chance to watch the market rally from it's lows. I would have viewed Friday's gap down cautiously due to the INTC news. No one knew if the market would hold the gap down thru close or rally back which created a lot of uncertainly. I would have trade the morning very cautiously.
