Trading issue: GC aug contract with exp 20190828 - phys delivery rules

...So, it looks I been trading this August contract since beginning of July... it was oscillating pretty good though!

Part of confusion is when I check contracts under IB tws software it does not show me December one it shows AUG, SEP thats about it..

The best general rule of thumb with futures is to always trade where the highest volume is when comparing contract months. Sure, you can push it right up to the limit on the First Notice and Last Trade Date, but why tempt fate?

Always look at the volume. Go where the volume goes, and you will be keen. GC is on a funky schedule. "Kinda" quarterly, but not exactly, hehe.

Mods, I am really sorry about this, but I cannot help myself...

Nilats, to be honest, I think GC is even easier to understand than the equities. F Equities, the king of futures!

I'll take the penalty if you deem it so, mods, but I just cannot resist making my point this way. But hey, at least I did not type it! 1st amendment with video? Teehee!

I can't take it anymore. I got out of my GC Aug 19. Took the loss. I don't want to see it goes below a certain level. It has yo yo back and forth. I could have gotten out at higher levels but it's all water under the bridge.

Is Lightspeed faster than Rithmic or CQG for order delivery?
We do not have our own routes. We offer a selection of software for futures including Realtick, Rithmic, CQG (Desktop, QTRader, IC, API), CTS T4, TT, and CME Direct. If you want faster than a desktop application, you need to be hosted. I'd say if you are using any of these and seeing delays, it is more likely your internet provider's path to the servers or use of WIFI or your location than the routing to the CME which to the naked eye should look instantaneous.
