And the best gamblers exploit their own edges, same thing

How can gamblers exploit their own edges if the outcome is random or against the odds.

This must be like the 1,000,000th thread on this topic. Trading is NOT gambling. Thats like saying that a apple and orange are the same.

Then bet your life on your next trade

For a start only a few forms of gambling like the roulette wheel are fixed and pure random chance...

Do I really have to go through all the ways it is possible??? from punters that know horse flesh better than others to card players that calculate probabilities

This is kind of a silly thread but what the heck I will jump in to the fray.
Is the point of this to categorize trading into gambling? Lets go to the definitions.

GAMBLING

–verb (used without object) 1. to play at any game of chance for money or other stakes.
2. to stake or risk money, or anything of value, on the outcome of something involving chance: to gamble on a toss of the dice.
–verb (used with object) 3. to lose or squander by betting (usually fol. by away): He gambled all his hard-earned money away in one night.
4. to wager or risk (money or something else of value): to gamble one's freedom.
5. to take a chance on; venture; risk: I'm gambling that our new store will be a success.
–noun 6. any matter or thing involving risk or hazardous uncertainty.
7. a venture in a game of chance for stakes, esp. for high stakes.

[Origin: 1150–1200; ME gamenen to play (OE gamenian), with substitution of -le for -en; see game1]
—Synonyms 6. venture, hazard, speculation, flyer.

You havent read my previuos post:
Professional gamblers in what type of game????.

For example poker for me is not considered as gambling because there are players who are consistent at winning. There is skill involved. That is the reason why we have Poker celebrities such as Jhonny Chen, Money Maker, Scotty Nguyen for example.

Whereas games such as Black Jack, Baccarat and Roulette I have never heard of anyone who where able to beat the odds consistenly without cheating.

You might tell me that card counters is the exception to the rule but this technique only increases your odds by a bit since nowadays casino alter their games in such a way that their odds are doom to be winners.

There you have it... the doe eyed traders with dreams of pink fluffy bunnys in their heads has just been shattered... according to the tape trading is gambling

Hardly matters what you consider gambling when the rest of the civilised world considers poker to be gambling

It doesn't matter what you call it -- you have nothing to gain by denying uncertainty. Become comfortable with it, you can make multiples more.
