Trading is Boring.... Good

okay, this is progress...... I am bored to death. This reminds me of when I have traded well.

what do you do during the trading day to stay occupied?
me... I read, listen to audio books, post and read on ET, do house work, etc...

it is mucho trouble, when I am bored and do not do those things,,, it leads to stupid trades

Obviously you do not want to do an activity that takes you too far away from your computer workstation if your trading day is not complete.

Read a book, clean house, shop online (Xmas around the corner), exercise, watch TV if one is in your office and so on.

In contrast, if you're talking about your trading day is complete (you're done for the day)...spend time with your friends, family, love ones, hobbies, exercise, grocery shopping, clean the car, holiday shopping, volunteer work, go for a nice walk/bike ride, help your neighbors.

Seriously, when you're bored and your trading day is not complete...relax, set your audio alerts and take a power nap. Watching your monitors all day especially when you're bored is not good for the mind & body.

Plan your day ahead of time like a schedule for things to do when you're bored until you get a trade signal during the trading day.

Sounds like someone is a little sensitive.

Seriously, I'm not against trading for a living but if you're not considering making an impact beyond trading, then you're living a pretty shallow life.

I suggest that most jobs are "shallow" by your definition since people only have them to make a living. Ask most earners and they will say if they could, they would not work, at least not in the jobs they can reasonably get. Trading is no more shallow than working in a fast food joint or being a janitor in an office building or being on an assembly line doing repetitive stuff. Earning a living is not shallow, no matter how you do it.

Honestly, this is why being a "full-time" trader is not always best. Maybe consider some side hustles. Further, let's be honest. Just being a trader isn't a really meaningful, impactful job in the grand scheme of things so consider additional ways you can make a positive impact on others.

Damn millenial, just done 50% of your trading profits to a few charitys, that way your having an 'impact' and all is well.

Ofcourse to me, in 3Bil years time, the sun will explode, human race is unlikely to get out of the solar system and any impact is completely pointless, so screw it and have some fun!!

2 screens, watch a movie on 1, while waiting for setups on the other, trade off an ipad while walking around town/hills as long as good 3/4G area ofcourse and low odds on getting mugged, I get a LOT of interest in my town, so much had to stop that.

Tank game on Ipad.

Stay away from porn mind, too distracting LOL

Go the gym, walk around with ipad, you'd be surprised how nobody notices when you make a big profit and high five yourself, it's odd, tablet sits nicely on the bikes, can spin legs for hours and watch market and listen to music same time.

When I switched to intermediate term trading I literally suffered from being itchy to check markets and do something with positions. Thankfully, I have another "real" business with markets being more a side hustle than a primary source of income. Researching markets is what I like, staying away from touching positions is the most difficult thing.
