I don't participate in this thread any more for many years. I even announced such a long time ago.
Baron has the ability to ban trolls from specific thread. Yet, if he chooses not to do such, he is also known to close the thread at the request of the thread starter.
Another Trading Hammers (revisited) thread can be started by anyone. As stated a long time ago...I stopped posting education content at Elitetrader.com many many years ago because of trolls like Fortuneteller even if its content posted in the prior decade (its old).
By the way, maybe you didn't know it...Baron truncated old threads. Thus, all the naked links to charts posted elsewhere at Elitetrader.com, those links no longer work. I knew such a long time ago when the chart links became dead links but never complained because I myself was no longer posting to this thread and had stopped posting education charts many years ago.
Regardless, I'll be damn if I allow some idiotic racist troll try to ruin this thread. It has a lot of useful info about Hammer patterns being used by ET members even still to this day.

All I said is what I said just above in one lousy post. Sorry if you don't like my take on your entry of waiting for price to go down after a hammer. You will miss over 90% of all hammer trades that way.
What kind of an edge is there in trading hammers if you wait for price to come down after a hammer?

This is a utter and completely useless thread. And it is in the Hall of Fame area? LOL
The room I hang out in treats them as pullbacks because that is exactly what they are. Pullbacks in price all wrapped up in one bar. Nothing else.
There is no edge whatsoever in trading a "hammer" the way that it is explained in this thread. My God, this has to be a joke.
P.S. And what happened to the first trading hammers thread? Was it worse than this one?

I've asked Baron to close Trading Hammers (revisted) thread. It was inactive for a very long time as planned until someone admitted in another thread they were going to troll me.
Simply, the re-opening of this thread that was inactive by that person is not for education reasons. He clearly has an crappy agenda that many of us are not willing to play that game with him nor is he able to grasp what others grasped in this thread especially the aspect that Hammer patterns are used by many as zones (not as a trade signal) for other trade signals that may appear later in the price action...discuss in the latter part of the thread.
If Hammer patterns are your thing...you can easily start your own thread but I won't be participating because the same characters are involved that have an ulterior agenda. They can say whatever they want in their own threads.
Baron, please close my Trading Hammers (revisited) thread...keep it inactive because I stopped sharing education content here at ET many many years ago. The education content in this thread remains...used anyway any one want's to use it.
This guy does not know how to keep his crap in the Political threads instead of faking interest in someone's trading related thread when its just another one of his retaliation efforts for conversations in the Political section.
Baron, there are other Hall of Fame threads that have been closed / retired...please do the same to my thread considering it was inactive until someone made it active again with a hidden agenda...reason why he's not able to post any verification he's even using the education content.

Hmm..... I just looked at what I posted. I did not mean that every hammer is treated like a pullback (even though that is what they are on a smaller time frame).
Where the hammer is happening on the chart determines whether it is a tradable hammer or not. But we do not have 800 rules for 18 different hammers either. There isn't time enough to determine a ton of rules while live trading. That is impossible. Unless you are trading a 15 min chart or something.
And no, I will not post anymore charts. I will be like wrbtrader from now and keep my mouth shut.

The limited set of hammers that i like a Lot occur at Support or Resistance as a prerequisite for further consideration.
