I haven't closed any big trades recently, but I will start a journal with a Trivial Pursuit question.


Trivial Pursuit Question of Complexity - Infant Boomer edition

How many lawyers call my homeless shelter:
1. The Crematorium
2. The Funeral Home
3. The Crematory
4. Camba 2402 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11233 (or as appropriate legal term)
5. Fill in the blank


Unlike most people, the trades will be advertised PRIOR to placement (usually, but that depends on time constraints, internet access, etc.) Trading is the priority, not the journaling.

FYI, the first trade was already placed on the ask. It is in process. Large, well-known names are involved so I cannot mention the potential counter-parties or intermediaries.

Hint: I joined the 1st annual "domestic violence awareness march" in Brownsville, Brooklyn, NY on Saturday. It was a good march. Good turnout and well organized. It appears to be a growth neighborhood with very old working-wealthy roots.
 
Well, some feedback from a potential counter-party:

"We ain't interested", but they might not be the player involved. It is a public company with a nice long term accumulation trend. Looks like a Buffett type of play to me. I do have some long term business plans to present to the shareholders of that company.

FYI, I did place an offer for a funeral home today:

Offer to purchase the land and building located at 2380 Pacific Street, Brooklyn, NY 11233 (Block 1443 Lot 29):
I, Andrew Bransford Brown, am offering the following in exchange for the deed to the above-referenced property:
1. Two thousand four hundred judgments from 2,400 NYC Bar Association lawyers. Each judgment has a face value of $4,000 plus late fee of $320 and an interest rate to be determined by the holder (recommend 28% simple interest) with a total value of $10,368,000 (Ten million three hundred and sixty-eight thousand dollars). 2. The seller is to tear down the building located at 2380 Pacific Street and pave it with a giant marble “slab” (can be sectioned and does not have to be that thick) with the names of all deceased/cremated since the company’s inception. If walls are required, so be it, but the purpose is to have a flattened marble paved area with the names of the deceased as a permanent record. No maintenance and no grass and no fixtures.
3. The land is to be donated to the city or state or Federal government as chosen by the seller (the city is the Buyer’s choice).
It is the Buyer’s opinion that the offices of the current business can be moved to nicer facilities on Fulton Street or elsewhere and that the property surrounding the current building would increase in value tremendously due to the proximity to the L line and the Long Island Railroad. It is likely other buildings in the area would be torn down and/or improved in a rapid manner by real estate developers.
If you agree to the above offer, we can have a contract written up, we’ll sign, and file it at the court house. No lawyer needed! I will request the Seller to pay the $200 for the filing fees as I do not have sufficient cash at this time. The lawyers have driven me destitute.
This offer is good until such time as I no longer reside at 2402 Atlantic Avenue.
